7 killed in bus-rickshaw van collision in Mymensingh

At least seven people were killed in a collision between a passenger bus and an auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh Sadar upazila this morning (February 16).

Of the victims, four people were identified as Bablu Ahmed, 45, his wife Shila Aktar, 35, and their son Sadman, 7, and CNG driver Alamin Hossain, 25.

The accident took place around 11:00am.

Witnesses said that a passenger bus rammed the Mymensingh-bound auto rickshaw in the area leaving the seven people dead on the spot. Later, on information, fire service officials rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

Katwali model police station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter.

Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Didar Mohammad Masud Alam Chowdhury said Tk20,000 were given to families of the victims to complete burial process. A probe committee will be formed in this regard.
