Stern actions against price hike of essentials during Ramadan: Salman

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment Salman F Rahman has warned that stern actions will be taken against those who will hike the prices of essentials during the holy month of Ramadan.

He made the warning while talking to the newsmen after visiting the 34th Tabligi Ijtema of Ahle Hadith Andolon Bangladesh at Bagha on Friday.

“We are adamant to take disciplinary actions against the greedy and unscrupulous businessmen found to be guilty in creating any unstable situation in markets,” he said. 

He also said there is no crisis of dollar as the Bangladesh Bank has adopted necessary steps in this regard. “We are very much hopeful about reaching the dollar rate to a satisfactory level within a shortest possible time,” he added.

The business tycoon said if the dishonest traders hike the price of commodities during the month of Ramadan they will be brought to book.
