Train schedule collapses in western region

The train schedule has collapse in the country’s western region due to derailment of Panchagarh Express.
The intercity train ‘Silk City Express which was scheduled at 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday (March 19), left Rajshahi Railway Station for Dhaka with a delay of 5 hours around 1:15 p.m. The authorities hope that the western railway will return to the normal train schedule from Wednesday morning.
The Panchagarh Express got derailed at the east side of the approaching line of the Bangabandhu Bridge in Tangail, snapping rail communication between Dhaka and the northern destinations. As a result, passengers of North Bengal including Rajshahi, Panchagarh and Rangpur faced huge sufferings.
The derailment occurred at around 9:00pm on Monday.
