Two children drown in B’baria pond

Two children drowned in a pond at Bidyakut village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Wednesday (March 27) noon.

The deceased were identified as Sijamoni, 6, daughter of Samir Hossain, and Takia, 7, daughter of Abdul Ali Mia, residents of Poshchimpara under Bidyakut union.

It was known that the two children fell down into a pond next to their house while they were bringing water hyacinth near its bank.

After a long search, locals spotted their bodies floating in the pond around 2 pm and recovered them.

Bidyakut union parishad chairman Jakarul Haque confirmed the news.
