BSF hands over body of Bangladeshi youth

The body of a Bangladeshi farmer, who was shot to death by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) along the Durgapur border in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat on Tuesday, was handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday night (March 27).

The deceased was known as Liton Mia, son of Moksedul Islam, hailed from Dighaltari area of Durgapur union.

Nayek Subedar Abul Kashem, Jawrani Camp under BGB-15 Battalion said that BSF members handed over the body of the victim through Jawrani border area of Hatibandha upazila around 10:30pm. Later, the body was handed over to the family members after completing legal procedures.

Earlier, on Tuesday (March 26), Liton Mia was shot by BSF in 923 pillar of Durgapur border. Later, he died under treatment.
