Three children drown in Chandpur

Three children, two of them cousins, drowned in ponds in separate incidents in Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur on Thursday afternoon (March 28).

The deceased were known as Samiul, 4, Samia, 3, and Bayezid, 4.

Sources said Samiul and Samia had gone out to play and drowned in a pond. The family had searched for them for a long time. Later, their floating bodies were recovered. Matalb Dakkhin upazila health complex doctor Rittika Majumdar declared them dead.

Besides, Kulsuma Begum, mother of Bayezid said that his son found dead at a pond on Thursday noon.

Matlab Dakkhin police station OC Ripon Bala said a case of unnatural death (UD) filed with the police station in this regard.
