Kidnapped manager not rescued yet

Md Nizam Uddin, abducted by a bank robber gang on Tuesday night, is yet to be rescued despite efforts.

Ruma police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahjahan on Wednesday morning (April 3) told reporters that the manager was not rescued yet. However, rescue effort is underway.

Local sources said the officials of Sonali Bank at Ruma Branch went to say prayer after taking Ifter on Tuesday. Later, armed robbers attacked the bank around 8:30pm.

Meanwhile, they attackers looted the money at bank locker. They also kidnapped the bank manager.

Additional Commissioner (Land) Didarul Alam said that the KNF, a new armed group would be involved with the robbery.

Two sub machine gun (SMG), 60 rounds of bullets, eight Chinese rifle, 320 rounds of bullets of policemen, four shot guns of ansar, and 35 rounds of bullets were also looted from the spot.

District police super Saikat Sahin, additional police super (Ruma Circle) Md Junayed and others visited the branch.
