Two Khulna AL leaders shot by miscreants in Jashore

Two Awami League (AL) leaders of Khulna were shot by a group of miscreants at Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore district.

The incident happened when they were gossiping at a tea stall in the Upazila’s Rajghat Bazar around 9 pm on Friday (April 12).

The wounded leaders are Molla Hedayet Hossain Litu, general secretary of Awami League’s Sadar union unit in Khulna’s Phultala upazila, and Khairuzzaman Sajib Bhuiyan, president of Jubo League’s Damodar union unit in the same upazila.

Citing locals, officer-in-charge (OC) of Phultala police station in Khulna Rafiqul Islam, said Rajghat Bazar is located next to Phultala Sadar union where Litu and Sajib were having tea at a stall owned by Mostak when a group of miscreants opened fire on them, leaving them critically injured.

Litu was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital while Sajib was admitted to Khulna City Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Police also recovered five rounds of fresh bullets from the spot.
