Upazila chairman candidate, his brother abducted

Delwar Hossain, an upazila chairman aspirant in Singra upazila of Natore district, his brother and another one person have allegedly been abducted.
According to Singra Thana police and victims’ family sources said that a Lutful Habib has submitted nomination papers for the post of chairman in the upcoming upazila parishad elections to be held on May 8. Till Sunday (April 14), none of his rivals filed nomination papers. On Monday (April 15), the last day for summiting nomination papers, Delwar Hossain went to a shop in Natore station area to submit his nomination papers online. At that time, his elder brother and joint general secretary of Kalam Union Awami League Emdadul Haque and Alauddin Munshi, general secretary of Kalam Union Awami League, went out to deposit the security money in the bank. When they came in front of Natore district election office to know the code number, some youths in a black colored microbus stopped them. At one stage, they were forcibly taken to the microbus. Since then their mobile phones were found switched off. Later, Delwar Hossain was also abducted.
Lutful demanded an unopposed run in the election, said Imdadul Hossain, joint general secretary of Kalam Union unit Awami League.
