Mother of four children hacked to death in M’singh

A woman was hacked to death by miscreants at Nandail upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday (April 17).

The incident took place around 11:30 pm in Chari Ani Para area of the town.

The victim was Nazma Akter, 35, wife of Abdul Mannan, a resident of that area.

Nandail Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sujan Mia confirmed the information.

SI Sujan Mia said, Nazma, mother of four children, had dinner with family members on Wednesday night. After eating, she went out to buy betel around 10 pm. As she was late to return home, her family started searching for her. After a while, local residents reported that the mutilated body of a woman was lying in a paddy field some distance from the house. After getting the news, Najma’s family members went there and identified her. Later, police went to the spot and recovered the body.

“It is suspected that Najma’s body was left in a paddy field after being hacked to death by unidentified miscreants. The body has been recovered. Police are investigating the incident,” the SI added.
