3 killed in separate road mishaps in Chattogram

Three people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Chattogram’s Patiya upazila.

The accidents happened on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar highway on Friday (April 19) night.

Two persons were killed and four others injured when a Chattogram-bound bus belonging to ‘Marsa Paribahan’ rammed into a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw around 10 pm at Kharna Chairman Ghat on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar highway in Chattogram’s Patiya upazila, leaving six people injured.

They were taken to Chandanaish BGS Trust Hospital where doctors declared two of them dead.

Patiya Crossing Highway Police officer-in-charge (OC) Toufiqul Islam confirmed the news.

The deceased were Abu Bakkar Tasif, 18, son of Abu Tayab, hailed from Chandanaish upazila, and Nurul Alim, 27, son of Ahmed Hossain, from Cox’s Bazar district.

In another accident, one was killed after a minibus overturned while it was giving a side to a bus at Mansa Badamtola in Patiya upazila in the evening.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rafik.
