One arrested with 12 gold bars in Khulna

Police in a drive arrested one person with 12 gold bars in Khulna.

The person arrested in Khulna has been identified as Masum Billah, son of Alam Gazi, hailing from Shakra village under Debhata upazila of Satkhira.

Police apprehended Masum in course of searching a passenger bus at the Zero Point of Khulna-Satkhira highway around 12 pm on Saturday (April 20).

Tajul Islam, deputy commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police, said, “During search at a bus of Tungipara Express, police doubted Masum and searched him. Later, cops seized 12 gold bars from his shoes.”

Estimated value of the gold bars is nearly Tk 1.2 crore.
