Bus-microbus collision kills 2 in Cox’s Bazar

Two people were killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus at Eidgaon upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Monday (April 29) morning.

The accident took place around 11am on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway at Khodaibari area in Islamabad union under the upazila.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Confirming the matter, Eidgaon Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shuvo Ranjan Chakma said all the deceased were the passengers of the micro-bus.

Quoting locals, the OC said the accident happened when a Cox’s Bazar-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus collided head-on with a microbus coming from opposite direction, leaving two dead on the spot and eight others critically injured.

The injured were rescued and sent to different nearby hospitals for treatment, he said.
