3 killed, over 100 injured as two groups clash in Habiganj

Two groups locked into a clash over establishing supremacy at a village under Baniachong upazila of Habiganj district on Thursday (May 9), leaving three people dead and more than 100 injured.

The incident took place this noon at Agua village in the upazila, said additional superintendent of police Palash Ranjan Dey.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Kadir, 25, son of Shukur Mia; Siraj Mia, 50, son of Bojlu Mia and Lilu Mia, 40, son of Ali Raja Mia.

Palash Ranjan Dey said the two groups of the village locked into a clash over establishing supremacy, leaving three dead on the spot and more than 100 injured.

The injured were taken to the Habiganj Sadar Hospital for treatment, he said.
