2 killed, 7 hurt as paddy-laden truck overturns in Satkhira

Two people were killed and seven others injured as a paddy-laden truck overturned in Satkhira’s Tala upazila this morning.

The deceased were identified as Saidul Gazi, 38, son of Taleb Gazi and Monirul Islam, 30, son Tofazzal Sardar.

The accident took place on Khulna-Paikgachha road in Harishendrakati Sardarbari Bottala area around 6:30 am on Saturday (May 18).

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tala Police Station Md Mominul Islam said, “The bodies have been kept at Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue.”

The truck was seized although its driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
