Former UP chairman hacked to death in Narsingdi

A former UP Chairman also local Awami League leader has been hacked to death by miscreants in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila.

The deceased was known as Mahabubul Hasan, 40, son of Amin Uddin, hailed from Bhagirathpur area in Meherpara of the upazila.

Locals said that the victim was returning home after completing his personal task at his office around 12:00am. Meanwhile, miscreants opened fire aiming him first. Later, attacked him with lethal weapon, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Narsingdi Sadar upazila where duty doctor declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, Narsingdi DB police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khokon Chandra Sarkar said investigation is underway in this regard.
