AL leader shot dead in Pabna

An Awami League leader was shot dead by miscreants at around 9:15pm on Saturday in Pabna district.

Pabna Additional Police Super Masud Alam confirmed the news at around 10:00pm.

The deceased is Babu Sheikh alias Dhak Babu. He was the former president of a ward of Giyeshpur union of Pabna sadar upazila and son of late Ajahar Sheikh.

According to police, Babu Sheikh sat at a tea stall and miscreants shot him, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately taken to Pabna General Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.

Police suspect that he was murdered over the previous enmity.
