Satkhira road crashes claim 3 lives

At least three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Satkhira Sadar and Patkelghata upazilas on Wednesday night (June 12).

The deceased were known as Shahin Mandal, 20, Julfikar Ali, 45, and Monirul Islam, 34.

Satkhira Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahidul Islam said Shahin, the truck driver's assistant fell on road when he went back to the truck after unloading stones from it. Meanwhile, another truck ran over him, leaving him injured. Later, he died under treatment around 2:00am.

Patkelghata police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplab Kumar Nath said that Khulna-bound a truck hit a dumper truck on Satkhira-Khulna highway in Bhairabnagar intersection of Patkelghata, leaving Julfikar Ali and Monirul Islam injured. Later, the injured succumbed to their injuries at Satkhira Sadar hospital.
