Maritime ports asked to hoist local cautionary signal 3

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary single number three as deep convection is taking place over the North Bay due to strong monsoon.

A special weather bulletin signed by meteorologist Md Shahinul Islam said this on Wednesday (June 19).

Gusty/squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country, said the bulletin.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

About 69mm rainfall was recorded from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday at Kalapara upazila.

Acting officer of Patuakhali Meteorology Office, Mahbuba Sukhi said more rainfall may occur in next 72 hours.
