Flood situation shows signs of improvement in Sylhet

The flood situation in Sylhet is showing signs of improvement. The sun was seen on Friday after 5 days.

Major rivers are marking fall in water level in absence of fresh bouts of rain from Friday morning.

However, rivers were still flowing above the danger level as of 12pm, according to Sylhet Water Development Board (WDB).

According to a WDB report, the Surma at Kanaighat point was flowing 58cm above the danger level and 24cm at Sylhet point, the Kushiara was flowing 13.13cm above the danger level at Amalshid point, 0.5cm at Shewla point, 103cm at Fenchuganj point and 20cm at Sherpur point.

Meteorologist Shah Mohammad Sajib Hossain of Sylhet Met Office said about 20mm rainfall was recorded in last 24 hours. No rain was occurred on Friday.
