Around Tk3 crore toll collected from Bangabandhu Bridge in 24 hrs

The Bangabandhu Bridge authorities collected Tk2,93,32,893 in toll as 34,893 vehicles crossed the bridge in the past 24 hours.

The vehicles crossed the bridge from Sunday midnight to Monday midnight.

Confirming the matter, Bangabandhu Bridge Executive Engineer Ahsanul Kabir Pavel said, Tk1,42,40,250 was collected as toll from a total of 15,884 vehicles in the east side of the bridge and Tk1,50,92,650 was collected as toll from a total of 19,009 vehicles in the west side of the bridge.

He also said that the number of vehicles on the highway is increasing due to the Eid holidaymakers.

The authorities have been collecting tolls since the bridge was inaugurated in 1998. Currently, the Commuter System Network (CNS) collects tolls for the bridge.
