6-year-old daughter of slain police constable repeatedly searching for father

Snigdha, the only six-year-old daughter of police constable Suman Gharamy, who was killed in Khulna during the clashes centring the quota reform movement, is repeatedly searching for her father. But the child still does not know that his father will never return. She sees her mother crying, and continues to call ‘Baba Baba’.

On Friday (August 2) night, such a scene was noticed at Khulna City Medical College Hospital. Suman Gharamy’s wife Mitu Biswas was screaming. The hospital became heavy with her cries.

Suman Gharamy, a resident of Kachua upazila of Bagerhat, was the son of Sushil Kumar Gharamy and Geeta Rani Gharamy. He lived with his wife and daughter on a rented house in Boyra area of the city.

Suman was serving as a bodyguard to Assistant Commissioner Soumen Biswas of Khulna Metropolitan Police’s Sonadanga Zone.
