Former land minister’s son arrested with firearms

Shirhan Sharif Tamal, 35, the son of a former land minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif Dilu, has been arrested in the Ishwardi area of Pabna.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him around 2:00 am on Friday (September 6).

Tamal was Juba League president of Ishwardi upazila.

RAB-12 Pabna camp commander Major Ehteshamul Haque Khan confirmed the matter.

One foreign-made pistol, one magazine, four rounds of ammunition, 10 pieces of Yaba tablets, and a car were seized during his arrest.
