5 killed in microbus-auto-rickshaw collision in Sirajganj

Five passengers of an auto rickshaw were killed and two others injured as a micro bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kamarkhanda upazila of Sirajganj on Sunday (September 8).
The incident took place around 12 pm in front of the ACI food factory on the Sirajganj-Nalka regional highway in the upazila.
Three of the deceased were identified and they are auto-rickshaw driver Rashedul Islam, Nurujjaman and Tarek Rahman. Two others could not be identified immediately.
Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kamarkhanda Police Station, said a Sirajganj-bound microbus, coming from Nalka collided head-on with a Nalka-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving three people dead on the spot and another four injured.
The injured were rushed to Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College where two others succumbed to their injuries, the OC said.
