Plea to file case against Benazir, Shahidul

An application has been made to file a case against former Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque for allegedly killing a man named Abul Hossain after abduction in Gomastapur upazila of Chapainawabganj in September 2018.
The victim’s wife Julekha Begum filed the application with the Gomastapur Amali court around 12 pm on Thursday (September 12).
Mozammel Haque, 50, former sub-inspector of Chapainawabganj RAB camp, Munirul Islam Tulu, 50, son of Serafat Ali Khan of Shibrampur village in Bangabari union of Gomastapur upazila, and Morsalin, 34, son of Idrish Ali of the same area, have been made accused in the case.
Additionally, 15-20 other unidentified individuals have been made accused in the case.
According to the case statements, on the afternoon of September 5, 2018, RAB and police members abducted Abul Hossain Babu from Rahanpur bus stand area on his way home from the court. The day after the incident, his wife Julekha Begum went to the Upazila Health Complex and found the body of her husband Abul Hossain lying with bullet wounds.
