Bullet-hit body of unidentified girl found on Munshiganj highway

Police have recovered the bullet-hit body of an unidentified young woman (24) from the service road of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Srinagar of Munshiganj.

Local people found the body lying near the Dogachi service road in Srinagar around 8am on Saturday (November 30) and later informed police.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. They also recovered five bullet shells near the body. Police suspect that the woman was likely shot dead.

According to local sources, the woman was seen walking on the expressway earlier in the morning with a young man. However, no information has emerged as to why she was shot dead and shooters behind her killing.

Confirming the incident, Srinagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Qayyum Uddin Chowdhury said: “We recovered the body along with five bullet shells from the scene early in the morning. The body will be sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy.”

Police are working closely to find out the mystery behind her killing, he said.
