Two crushed under train in Tongi

Two people were killed after being crushed by a train in Tongi of Gazipur on Monday (December 9) night.

The incident took place around 10:30pm near the Bonmala level crossing area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh rail route.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Choton Sharma, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tongi Railway police outpost, said the incident occurred around 10:30pm near the Bonmala level crossing area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh rail route. A Kurigram bound Express train struck the victims, killing them on the spot.

Their bodies have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

Quoting locals, the police official said that they were father and son.
