3,500 tourists in Sajek Valley

With the arrival of winter, the hilly district of Rangamati has become lively again. Tourists are rushing from different parts of the country to get close to nature during the three-day holiday. 

Meanwhile, Sajek Valley, one of the tourist spots in this district, is now busy with tourists. Almost all the rooms in the hotels and motels here have been 100% booked. Tourism-related businessmen are happy with the arrival of tourists.

According to the Sajek Cottage Owners Association, there are 116 hotels, resorts and cottages in Sajek. There are more than 14 restaurants. Tourists are now staying at all the hotels.

Rahul Chakma John, organizing secretary of the Sajek Cottage Owners Association, said, “Sajek is full of tourists. Tourists from different parts of the country are coming to enjoy the beauty of Sajek. About 3,500 tourists have gathered here. All hotels, cottages, and resorts have been booked until December 16”.

“There are no security concerns at present. If anyone faces any problem or if hotels or motels demand additional fares, I request them to contact the association”, he added.

About 200 jeeps and 50 auto-rickshaws came on Friday. In addition, more than a hundred motorcycles came, sources said.
