Narsingdi factional clash claims 3 lives

Three people were killed and at least 30 others injured in a factional clash between two groups over establishing supremacy at Bashgari union under Raipura upazila in Narsingdi on Sunday morning (January 26).

The deceased were known as Ali Ahmad, 23, Alamgir Hossain Alam, 19, and another one remained unidentified instantly.

Locals said centering extortion issue, hundreds of people swooped on each other with bamboo sticks, rod, brick chips, stone, lethal weapons, and fire arms, leaving the three people dead.

Initially, it was known that Bashgari Union Parishad’s incumbent chairman Ratul Hasan and former chairman Ashraful Haque had the support in the clash.

Raipura police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Adil Mahmud said additional police forces were deployed in the area.
