Villagers force BSF members to retreat to Indian territory

India’s BSF personnel beat five Bangladesh citizens after illegally entering into the Bangladesh territory at Noudanga union under Fulbari upazila in Kurigram.

Later, villagers protested against the Indian security force’s illegal entry into Bangladesh territory. At one stage, villagers chased the BSF personnel and they retreated to the Indian territory.

At least five Bangladesh citizens were injured in the BSF attack and they are taking treatment locally.

The injured are - Md. Shamsul, son of Israil Hossain of Krishnananda Baksi village, Jabed Ali, son of Khoka Mia, Tajul Islam, son of Abul Kashem, Md. Ripon, son of Mukul Mia, and Md. Kashem Ali, son of Mannan.

In response, Lieutenant Colonel Shakil Alam, chief of Lalmonirhat-15 BGB camp, told reporters that BSF beating Bangladeshis inside Bangladeshi territory is not an easy task. We will enquire the matter, he said.
