Accused of martyred Abu Sayed murder case arrested

Police arrested Emran Chowdhury Akash, who is accused of Abu Sayed murder case, from Gangapara village in Islampur Upazila of Jamalpur district early hours today.

Acting on a tip off, a team of Islampur Police Station carried out a raid on the house of Emran Chowdhury Akash at the village and arrested him at around 2 am, said Md Saifullah Saif, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Islampur Police Station.

He went into hiding after August 5, 2024, he added.

Police said Emran was the 58th accused of the martyred Abu Sayed murder case in the Rangpur district.

Emran was the son of Shahin Shah Choudhury at Gangapara village in the Upazila, the fourth Joint Secretary General of Begum Rokeya University Chhatra League unit in Rangpur and a second-year student of History and Archaeology department.
