Journalist Masuma succumbs to accident injuries in Rajshahi

Masuma Islam, a reporter of Ekhon Television, has died after suffering fatal injuries in a road accident in Rajshahi.

She breathed her last at a private hospital in Dhaka around 4:30am on Tuesday (February 18).

On February 14, she was heading to the house of her father-in-law with husband in Cumilla. A speedy bus hit them when they tried to take an auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Chattogram highway, leaving them critically injured.

Initially they were taken to Cumilla Sadar Hospital and shifted to Dhaka for better treatment. Later, she succumbed to her injuries at hospital.

Rakibul Hasan Razib, Ekhon TV’s Rajshahi Bureau Chief, said the journalist’s body will be taken to Markazul Islam in Babor Road in the capital. After the first namaz-e-janaza, she will be taken to Gurudaspur of Natore.
