Attack on KUET students: 4 BNP, Jubo Dal men arrested

Police have arrested four leaders and activists of BNP and Jubo Dal in a case filed in connection with an attack on students at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
This was confirmed by police on Saturday (February 22) night.
Prior to this, they were sent to jail through a court after they were shown arrested Friday last.
The arrestees are BNP leader Abdul Karim Mollah, Jubo Dal leaders Anwar Hossain, Ibrahim Howlader and BNP supporter Shafiqul.
Meanwhile, Khulna Metropolitan BNP in a statement condemned the arrest after confirming their party identity.
Sub-inspector (SI) of Khanjahan Ali Police Station SS Rikabul Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, said: “On the day of clash, army personnel detained five people and later handed them over to the police. They were being treated in prison cells. On Friday, four of them were shown arrested and sent to jail.”
