Cop found hanging in Kushtia

Police recovered the hanging body of a policeman from his house in Kushtia's Mirpur upazila on Wednesday (February 26).

The deceased was known as Rafiqul Islam, 25, son of Samsul Islam. He was a police constable with Jhenaidah Police Lines.

The body was recovered around 10 am from Katlamari village of Sadarpur union in the upazila.

Mirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mominul Islam said that the policeman Rakibul Islam came home on leave. He woke up on Wednesday morning and freshened up. Later, he entered the room again, locked himself from inside and committed suicide by hanging himself.

Later, on information, police recovered the body.
