Myanmar Navy releases 56 Bangladeshi fishermen

Myanmar Navy has released 56 Bangladeshi fishermen, who were detained while fishing in the Bay of Bengal.

BGB Teknaf-2 battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Ashikur Rahman confirmed the matter around 11:30 pm on Wednesday (March 5).

Quoting trawler owners, the BGB official said on Wednesday morning, a few trawlers were fishing in the southwestern sea off St. Martin's Island in Teknaf. At that time, six trawlers accidentally entered Myanmar's waters.

Meanwhile, the Myanmar navy seized the trawlers and detained the fishermen. Later, they leave the fishermen taking the fishes, nets and food items from the boats.
