7-month pregnant woman gang-raped in Narsingdi

A seven-month pregnant woman was gang-raped in Narsingdi for three days after a man trapped her in a building promising to help her arrested husband secure bail.
The victim woman filed a case in this regard on Saturday (March 8) noon with the Madhabdi Police Station in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. Soon after filing the case, police arrested the main culprit named Iqbal.
Two other people, including Pappu, have been made accused in the case.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhabdi Police Station Md Nazrul Islam confirmed the news.
OC Nazrul Islam said, “A culprit was arrested in a case filed for his alleged involvement in raping a pregnant woman. Drives are underway to arrest the remaining accused.”
The victim was raped by several men during February 19-21 at a building at Pachdona intersection in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. In early morning on February 19, Iqbal called the victim via phone to come to the intersection to discuss securing bail for her husband with support from lawyer Pappu.
Upon her reaching the spot, Iqbal took her inside a building, and snatched her mobile phone. There Iqbal, Pappu and three others raped her repeatedly. As her health condition deteriorated, they dropped her in front of her residence on February 21. Iqbal threatened to kill her if she revealed her ordeal to anyone else.
