Pregnant woman gang-raped in Keraniganj, 2 arrested

A pregnant woman has been allegedly gang-raped in the South Keraniganj of Dhaka.

Police arrested two suspected rapists in connection with the incident. The arrestees are – Ashraful Islam Sium, 20, and Jeet Sarkar, 19.

The victim was admitted to One Stop Crisis Center of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:00am on Sunday (March 9).

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Keraniganj Police Station, Mazharul Islam, said that the woman had come to Dhaka Sadarghat yesterday due to a dispute with her husband. The two youths talked to the woman around 10:00 pm and took her to an abandoned house. Later, she was raped by three people there.
