‘If Ishraque not sworn in then movement would take new turn’

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that if Ishraque Hossain is not sworn in as Dhaka South mayor within a day or two, the ongoing movement for his oath-taking would take a different shape.
The BNP leader said this while addressing an inauguration of BNP's Sylhet division membership campaign at the district Shilpakala Academy on Monday (May 19).
He said the person who was elected mayor by the court's decision. The Election Commission has issued a gazette on his name… Then why we are waiting?
Aiming the Chief Adviser, he said, "Professor Yunus and one of your young advisors are in charge of the Ministry of Local Government. They think they will not obey the law, they will not obey the court order. We have always supported you. We are committed to supporting this government. But that doesn’t mean that we will tolerate whatever you do.”
BNP leaders and activists from different units of four districts of Sylhet division attended the program.
