Youth shot dead in public in Savar

A young man was shot dead in public at Savar upazila in Dhaka district yesterday night.

The murder took place on the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 9:30 PM in front of a shop in the area.

The deceased was identified as Shahin, 26, son of Md Kabir Hossain, a resident of Baliyapur Kotapara area in the upazila. He lived in a rented house in the Radio Colony area and worked as a painter in a garage owned by Borun.

Confirming the incident, Savar Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Jewel Mia said that upon receiving news, a team of police visited the spot and recovered the body.

Police are working to reveal the mystery behind the killing and arrest those involved in the killing, the OC added.
