6 to walk gallows for killing trader in Sirajganj

A court in Sirajganj has sentenced six people to death for their involvement in killing a vegetable trader named Nazmul Islam.
Judge M Ali Ahmed of the Senior District and Sessions Judge's Court in Sirajganj passed the order on Tuesday (May 20).
The court also fined them Tk10,000, in default, they will suffer one more month jail term.
The convicted persons are Md Khaza Mia, Enamul, Mozahid, Md Bashu, Md Saidul Islam, and Md Milon Sarker.
Advocate Shakil Mohammad Sharifur Haydar, public prosecutor of the court confirmed the matter.
According to the case statement, businessman Nazmul Islam left for Dhaka on the afternoon of August 10, 2017, after buying vegetables from Chakgori Market in Naogaon. But his family has lost contact with Nazmul from August 11.
Later, the victim’s body was recovered from Hatikumrul area under Salanga thana in Sirajganj on August 12.
