Satkhira former-reserved seat MP Laila Parvin arrested

Police arrested Laila Parvin, former reserved seat MP and the education and human resources secretary of the Awami League's (AL) Satkhira district unit early Tuesday (May 20).

She was taken into custody from her residence in the district town at around 3:00 am.

Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Haque confirmed the matter.

Laila Parveen has been in hiding since August 5. She is an accused in a case under the Special Powers Act filed at Satkhira Sadar Police Station on February 18 this year, the OC added.
