Launch services on Barishal`s internal routes suspended

Launch services on the internal river routes in Barishal have been suspended due to rough weather caused by a low-pressure formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas.

Maritime ports have been asked to hoist signal no 3 due to the inclement weather.

As a result, the motor launch (ML) type launch operations have been suspended on 18 internal routes of Barishal from this morning (Thursday).

Barishal BIWTA port official Mohammad Selim Reza confirmed the news.

Milan Howlader, a Senior officer at Barisal Meteorological Observer, said that gusty winds of up to 60 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected in various parts of the southwestern region, including Barishal, in the next 24 hours. Similarly, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in various parts of the district, including Barishal.
