Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, the adviser for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, has assured that gas supply situation at the country’s industrial units will improve by this evening.
“We’ve found some truth in the complaints raised by industrial owners regarding the gas crisis after our inspection. We are trying to adjust the situation. Four LNG cargoes are being brought to tackle the ongoing gas crisis. Due to rough weather at sea, stocking couldn’t be done on time. We hope the situation will improve by this evening, and we’ll monitor it,” he said while talking to reporters after observing the gas situation at the Towel Tex Limited factory at Chandra area in Kaliakair of Gazipur on Saturday (May 31).
The adviser said, “Illegal gas connections exist in all areas. Action is being taken against Titas Gas officials who are responsible for these illegal connections.”
“A large-scale operation will be conducted to disconnect illegal gas lines and take action against those involved,” he added.
