Meghna trawler capsize: 2 bodies recovered, 2 still missing

The body of a missing person has been recovered a day after a trawler capsized in the Meghna River near Hatia in Noakhali. This brings the death toll to two while two more people remain missing.
The deceased were known as Giash Uddin, 53, son of late Tofazzal Hossain, hailed from Daulatpur village of Feni, and Hasina Khatun, 25, wife of Tarek, a resident of Bhashan Char Rohingya camp.
The missing persons are- Saiful Islam, 28, a policeman of Sudharam Model police station of the district, Tamim, son of Tarek, hailed from Rohingya camp in Bhashan Char.
Hatia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Azmal Huda confirmed the matter to risingbd.
Earlier, the boat carrying 39 passengers capsized in the Meghna river near Hatia upazila of Noakhali on Saturday noon amid strong winds and rough waves.
