Movement of vehicles on Gazipur highways normal

People are returning home to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with their families and relatives. The Eid journey of working people in the capital has already begun.

So far, there have been no reports of any inconvenience during the Eid journey.

The movement of vehicles on both the Dhaka-Mymensing and Dhaka-Tangail Highway remained normal despite an onrush of home-goers ahead of the Eid-ul-Ahza celebration.

However, it is predicted that the traffic congestion would increase in the afternoon as 10% of garment factories will be declared shut on Tuesday (June 3).

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) SM Ashraful Alam said that the police have arranged three tiers of security to ensure a smooth Eid journey.
