Two children drown in Narail

Two children have drowned in a pond near their house at Atlia village under Chachuri union in Kalia upazila of Narail district.

The incident took place on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Rihan Sheikh, 3, son of Reaz Sheikh of Atlia village, and Rahat Sheikh, 3, son of Roni Sheikh. Both the deceased are cousins.

According to sources, the duo drowned in a pond while they were playing on the bank of the water body near their house.

Later, the family members with the help of locals rescued them and took those to Narail Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
