45-km traffic jam on Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge Highway

People are rushing their village home at the last minute.
As a result, the pressure of vehicles has increased on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge Highway.
When the report was filed at 4 pm on Wednesday (June 6), a severe traffic jam of 45-km was seen on the highway.
A young man named Sohel, who is going to Rangpur, said, “The condition of the road is very bad, I don’t think I will be able to go home tomorrow morning to offer Eid prayers.”
A man named Rony Mia said, “The distance from Tangail city to Elenga is only 10 km. But, I covered this distance in three hours. Where, it normally takes 20 minutes.”
A bus passenger named Nadia Akhter said, “I boarded the bus from Dhaka to Bogura at 9 pm yesterday. But, I still haven’t been able to cross Tangail. It is not clear when I will go home.”
Elenga Highway Outpost In-charge Mohammad Sharif said, “'Traffic movement is very slow on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge Highway. Efforts are being made to resolve the problem.”
About the reason of the traffic jam, he said, “'Last night, a few vehicles broke down on the Jamuna Bridge. Along with this, there is also a pressure of vehicles on the highway.”
