Mother-daughter among 3 killed as covered van smashes bike in Pabna

Three people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed after a covered van smashed a motorcycle in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as lychee seller Anisur Rahman, son of late Abed Ali Mondol, of the upazila; Suborna Khatun, 30, wife of BGB (retd.) member Mofizul Islam and her daughter Purnota of Natore Sadar upazila.

The accident took place when the motorcyclist Mofizul Islam was buying lychee parking his motorcycle on the Dashuria-Kushtia highway.

Motorcyclist Mofizul Islam was injured critically and is undergoing treatment at Ishwardi Health Complex.

Mushfiqur Rahman, In-charge of Pakshi Highway Police Station, confirmed the news and said, “The bodies have been kept at upazila health complex and will be handed over to family.”

Police will take legal action if any complaint is lodged in this regard, he added.
