Keraniganj bank vault loot: 3 suspected robbers arrested

Three suspected robbers were arrested for looting Tk15.30 lakh from the vault of a IFIC sub branch in Keraniganj.

The arrestees are – a security guard named Siam, 21, Al Amin, and Imran Sheikh, 26.

A press notification signed by Keraniganj Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Monirul Haque Dablu confirmed the matter on Wednesday (June 11).

Police said that the bank janitor and his two accomplices, who masterminded the robbery, were arrested and interrogated. They told the police that they planned to commit the robbery by observing inside and outside the bank at different times. During the incident, they broke the ventilator in the washroom behind the bank and entered the bank. Then, they broke into the bank's locker and stole Tk15.30 lakh.

Later, police recovered the looted money from their possession.
