Two minors drown in pond in Brahmanbaria

Two children drowned in a pond at Bihair Paschimpara village under Natai Uttar Union of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila on Thursday (June 11).

The deceased were known as Mariam Akter, two and a half years old, daughter of Md Kawsar Mia of the same village, and Shahida Akhter, 2 and a half years old, daughter of Shahed Mia from Dhansar village.

Shahida had come to visit her maternal grandparents' house in Bihair Paschimpara.

Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station OC Md. Mozaffar Hossain said that two children were playing in the yard. At one point, they fell into a pond next to the house. Later, their bodies were recovered.
